Launching in June 2010, East of Borneo is a collaborative investigation of the art of Los Angeles and beyond. Edited by Thomas Lawson, it offers an alternative publishing model that will engage readers in building an expansive, multi-perspectived history of art that bridges the distance between early developments and current practice. This far-reaching project will also include an imprint of highly focused books that reconsider neglected material within a contemporary context.
